CHESTER, Pa. - Georgetown's Brandon Allen scored the game-winning goal with 59 seconds remaining in double-overtime to lift the Hoyas (17-2-1) over Marquette (16-3-1) in BIG EAST men's soccer semifinals Friday night at PPL Park.

With the loss, Marquette is eliminated from the conference tournament while Georgetown advances to the BIG EAST Men's Soccer Championship on Sunday. Head coach Louis Bennett and the Golden Eagles will now look forward to an imminent at-large berth in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

Georgetown, which notched the first goal of the game with less than a minute remaining in the first half, tallied the decisive score off a corner kick as the clock hit the 110th minute of play.

Georgetown, the No. 2 seed in the Blue Division, scored with 30 seconds remaining in the first half to grab a 1-0 lead. MU had a throw-in inside a minute left in its attacking third, but a quick turnover resulted in the Hoyas' opportunity. Jimmy Nealis dribbled it inside the right edge of the box and crossed it to Steve Neumann, who unleashed a shot back across the goal and inside the left post for the opening score.

Marquette's best chance of the first half came just moments earlier. The Golden Eagles were able to counter attack after a Georgetown corner kick that lead to a shot by sophomore forward Kelmend Islami, who tried to slot it past Hoyas' goalkeeper Tomas Gomez from five yards out on the right wing. Gomez spilled shot attempt, but was able to smother it before MU senior forward Andy Huftalin could pounce on the rebound.

Junior forward Adam Lysak leveled the match at 1-1 in the 57th minute. The ball was brought up the left channel and sent to junior midfielder Bryan Ciesiulka at the top of the box. Ciesiulka played a nice through ball to Lysak who took two touches inside the 18 to create space and ripped a shot to the right of the keeper for his fifth goal of the season and eighth of his career.

MU, which was the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST tourney, is all but guaranteed an at-large berth in the upcoming NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship, which begins Nov. 15. Fans are invited to attend a "NCAA Selection Show" party on Monday, Nov. 12, on campus at The Annex, starting at 4 p.m. Central time. The selection show will air live at 4:30 p.m. online at NCAA.com.
