Marquette Soccer Adds 2017 Signee, Brendan Skinner

Feb. 23, 2017

MILWAUKEE – Marquette University head coach Louis Bennett announced on Thursday the addition of 2017 recruit Brendan Skinner.

The Surrey, British Columbia, native is a promising center back that played academy soccer for the Vancouver Whitecaps residency program and stands 6-foot-4-inches tall. He becomes the fourth member of Bennett’s 2017 recruiting class.

“I think he’s one of the most promising center backs in the academy system,” Bennett said. “In his time in Vancouver, he was used exceptionally well. He’s a prototypical Marquette recruit as his academic abilities meet his athletic abilities.

“Brendan made a big impression on the staff when he came on campus for his visit,” Bennett added. “He’s a high character guy and a very ambitious young man in all aspects of what he does.

Skinner trained consistently with the Vancouver’s USL club and has experience training in Canada’s U-15 and U-18 National Team camps. He will add some most-needed size for Marquette on the backline.
