Men's Soccer to Hit the Field for the First Time in Bennett Era
March 20, 2006 MILWAUKEE - Head coach Louis Bennett will lead the Marquette men's soccer team onto the field for the first time on March 25 when the Golden Eagles begin their five-date spring season. "Our spring schedule gives us an opportunity to look at our existing players to find out who is acclimatizing to the new system," Bennett said. "It gives us a great opportunity to see the new system that we are implementing and to see who can play in that new system and to see where we need to recruit players. It definitely comes at a great time because after some intense training, we're ready for this kind of test." Marquette starts its non-championship season taking on Bradley in Peoria, Ill., on Saturday, March 25. On April 1, MU heads to Chicago to take on three teams in an all-day round robin event at Loyola (Ill.). Including the Ramblers, Marquette will take on Northwestern and Lewis. Marquette has yet to schedule its opponent for its April 23rd date, but is set to play at home. Two days later, Marquette will visit Wis.-Milwaukee at 4 p.m. MU will conclude its spring season on April 29th in Kenosha, Wis., playing Northwestern at 11:35 a.m. and Wis.-Parkside at 1 p.m. Marquette Soccer Spring Schedule March 25 at Bradley (Peoria, Ill.), 3 p.m.
