April 9, 2011
MILWAUKEE -- Adam Lysak tallied two more goals and added an assist in Marquette's 3-0 win over the Milwaukee Wave in spring exhibition play Saturday from Valley Fields.
Lysak buried a cross from Chris Madsen into the back of the net to break a scoreless tie in the 17th minute. He scored again three minutes before intermission with a putback off a Calum Mallace shot that pinged the right post.
Although Marquette had multiple scoring opportunities in the second half, the Golden Eagles' lone goal of the stanza came when Lysak found Bryan Ciesiulka with a through ball in the 51st minute.
Goalkeeper David Check played the entire 90 minutes to earn his second straight shutout of the spring season, including some key saves down the stretch to preserve the clean slate.
Marquette remains undefeatd in spring play with Saturday's victory over the Wave, who are coming off a 2011 MISL Championship. The Wave did not play their full first-team squad Saturday, rounding out the field with reserves and Wave alumni.
MU will travel to Stevens Point, Wis. for neutral site contests against Viterbo and in-state rival Wisconsin next Sunday, April 17 at Scaffidi Field.
