Last Friday night's camp was great as expected! Khaled was the limo driver who sought out those Breast Cancer Camp participants coming from parking lots and chauffeured them safely on his cart to the field. It was very much appreciated as the night was pretty windy and chilly. However, once the running began, we didn't seem to notice anymore. Everyone had fun playing a game of tag, octopus and keep away with our student coaches! It is great that each week we get the opportunity to make even more friends as we are randomly paired with campers and play soccer with them. The night seemed to fly by so quickly!

The athletic training "Abs by Khaled" left many of us sore - at least I know it did me even today! The MU student coaches and Khaled made it look so easy but when we tried...UGH!!! It was still fun even though I couldn't keep up with them. OK...Khaled. You can set up a regime for us!:) The 3v3 mini-tournament was a lot of fun! I was paired with women that I hadn't known before and it was fun! The night capped off with a penalty shot "shoot-out" won by Sara Jochem from Whitefish Bay! Congratulations Sara! Enjoy your romance package at the Ambassador Hotel!

We wait in anticipation for what this Friday brings! What muscles will be woken up and be sore this time? :)

We truly appreciate the time and effort you have put into making this Breast Cancer Camp the success that it is! Thank you everyone for attending the camp - Campers as well as staff. It has been great to get to know you! Together we make great things happen!

I think that the camp is a wonderful experience for everyone. We all have met been fortunate to meet new people from every walk of life that have elected to come out of current comfort zones. We come together as campers with all different levels of soccer experiences and yet supportive of all - from soccer moms to soccer moms who are also soccer players.

I think that it emulates what Khaled is trying to accomplish. Even though we are all different, we are all inherently the same. We are all good and caring individuals who want to make a difference in life. By coming together, we are proving that we can make a difference one kick at a time. Not only are we making a difference by improving ourselves as we get in shape and become better soccer players through more touches on the ball but also as participants supporting each other.

We are individuals who are parts of a whole and together, we can make a difference. We can KICK CANCER one kick at a time!
