Graham Shaw Joins Marquette Soccer Coaching Staff

May 22, 2017

MILWAUKEE – Graham Shaw joins Louis Bennett and the Marquette University men’s soccer staff as goalie coach and camps director after serving the past two years as assistant coach at Maryville University.

In Shaw’s first season as the assistant for the Saints in 2015 under current Marquette assistant Sean Hughes, he took the Maryville men’s soccer program to new heights with a single-season record for wins at the Division II level and the most shutouts in a season in program history.

In Shaw’s second season at Maryville he continued the winning trend, again breaking the single-season wins record with the highest finish in program history, as well as reaching the conference tournament for the first time at the Division II level and receiving votes in the NCAA Top-25 poll.

Shaw was responsible for all day-to-day operations, but specialized in working with the goalkeepers at Maryville, guiding them, collectively, to numerous postseason awards such as freshman of the year, two all-conference selections, two defensive player of the week honors and four consecutive clean sheets, all of which were first in the program’s history.

Prior to joining Maryville, Shaw spent four seasons at Soccer Domain Football Club in New Jersey where he served as director of goalkeeping. While in New Jersey, he was responsible for the development and training programs of all academy goalkeepers between the ages of 7-18.

Shaw also held stints at Mossley Hill F.C., Challenger Sports and Liverpool F.C. Academy. As a player, Shaw enjoyed a successful career in his native Liverpool, England, representing Tranmere Rovers F.C. Academy and Liverpool School Boys.

Shaw holds both English FA level 1 and 2 coaching certificates, as well as a UEFA B License and NSCAA Goalkeeping levels 1, 2 and 3 badges.

Shaw is currently pursuing his degree online from Southeast Missouri State University.

Shaw resides in Milwaukee with his wife, Lauren, and their miniature schnauzer, Rafa.
