CARSON, Calif.
– Incoming freshman goalkeeper Luis Barraza of the Marquette University men’s soccer program has helped lead his U-17/18 squad Real Salt Lake AZ to the U.S. Development Academy Championship final against U-17/18 Chicago Fire at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California.

The U-17/18 U.S. Development Academy Championship final is set for Saturday, July 18, at 9:30 p.m. Central time. The match will be live streamed via ussoccer.com.

Barraza, who recorded the 2-0 shutout in the team’s semifinal win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Thursday, has served as the regular starting goalkeeper for what has been a dominant squad on both sides of the pitch.

Real Salt Lake AZ has compiled a whopping 35-3-4 record heading into the title match with a 21-game unbeaten streak and 14-game winning streak to their credit. To further prove the team’s dominance, it has outscored opponents 163-33 this season.

Barraza is no stranger to the big stage as he led Real Salt Lake AZ to the U-15/16 title back in 2013.
