MILWAUKEE -- Fifteen Marquette University men's soccer players (and Coach Leonard!), over half of last year's roster, earned a spot on the 2013-14 BIG EAST All-Academic Team the league announced Thursday.

Head coach Louis Bennett has preached that his student-athletes must focus on three areas -- "school, soccer and social" -- in order for Marquette Soccer to continue to be successful on and off the pitch.

In addition to advancing to the 2014 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship's round of 16, the Golden Eagles, who were nationally ranked in all major polls the entire season, captured both BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles while earning a combined 3.26 team GPA during the fall semester.

Furthermore, Charlie Lyon, Sebastian Jansson and Kyle Gress each earned perfect 4.0 GPAs for the 2014 spring semester. Lyon, a Capital One Academic All-American, also earned the BIG EAST's Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award for men's soccer this past spring.
