MILWAUKEE - Marquette University is ranked No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) while receiving votes in the first NSCAA/Continental Tires NCAA Division I Men's Soccer national poll of the 2012 season. MU opened the campaign unscathed this past weekend with a perfect 2-0-0 record.

In addition, Marquette moved up one spot to No. 32 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com rankings and is receiving votes in the College Soccer News poll.

Under the direction of seventh-year head coach Louis Bennett, the Golden Eagles knocked off a pair of in-state soccer rivals beginning with a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind victory over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the season opener last Friday night.

Marquette then traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday afternoon and shut out the Phoenix 1-0. Eric Pothast, who collected multiple weekly awards Monday for his part in the victories, tallied the lone goal.
