BLOOMINGTON, Indiana -- The nationally ranked Marquette University men's soccer team seeks its first result of the 2014 season -- and an adidas/IU Credit Union Classic championship -- when the Golden Eagles take on the hosts, eight-time national champion Indiana Hoosiers, this Sunday, Aug. 31 from Bill Armstrong Stadium.

Kickoff against the Hoosiers is scheduled for 1 p.m. Central time (2 p.m. ET) which is a different start time than was originally reported. Sunday's match against the 2012 national champions will be streamed live on BTNPlus. Supporters can also follow Marquette Soccer on Twitter (@marquettesoccer) for real-time updates all season long.

The defending BIG EAST Conference champion Golden Eagles (0-1-0), who embark on the 50th season of men's soccer at Marquette University, suffered a 2-1 setback Friday night to former league rival Notre Dame (1-0-0) in the tournament- and season-opener. Georgetown (0-0-1) and Indiana (0-0-1) battled to a 1-1 draw in Friday's nightcap, which was a rematch of the 2012 College Cup final won by the Hoosiers.

Sunday's action begins with the Fighting Irish taking on Georgetown at 10:30 a.m. Central time (11:30 a.m. ET). Notre Dame, which picked up three points in Friday's win over Marquette would clinch the tournament title with a victory.

Marquette can win the 2014 adidas/IU Credit Union Classic with a victory Sunday over Indiana and if Georgetown and Notre Dame draw. MU would earn a share of the title with a win over the Hoosiers and a Hoyas' victory.

Marquette is looking for its first victory over Indiana in a series that dates back to 1981. MU has not earned a result against the Hoosiers since a 2-2 draw in Milwaukee back in 1986 as the Indiana owns a 9-0-1 all-time advantage in the series history.

Sunday's meeting marks the Golden Eagles' first regular-season match-up against the home side since Indiana claimed a 3-2 overtime win on Sept. 14, 1996 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The two squads met again in Fort Wayne during the 2013 preseason at the Shindigz National Soccer Festival where MU battled back with a pair of second-half goals to earn a 3-3 draw.
