Prpa Nets BIG EAST Offensive, Freshman of the Week

Sept. 5, 2016

Official BIG EAST Release

NEW YORK - Freshman midfielder Luka Prpa continues to reel in the accolades as the BIG EAST Conference announced today that the Wind Lake, Wisconsin native has been named this week's Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week.

The rookie has a league-best 12 points after back-to-back six-point efforts, helping the Golden Eagles to wins over Northern Illinois and UIC last week. Prpa, who leads the nation in assists, while ranking fourth in goals, had a hand in each of MU's eight goals during the week.

It marked the first time since 2001 that Marquette has scored four goals in back-to-back games and Prpa is the first Golden Eagle in history to register at least two goals and two assists in consecutive outings.

Marquette returns to Valley Fields tonight, playing host to Northwestern at 7:05 p.m.
