MILWAUKEE - The awards continue to pile up for freshman phenom Luka Prpa, who was recognized as National Player of the Week by both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and Top Drawer Soccer for his play during the week ending Sept. 4.

The Wind Lake, Wisconsin native had a remarkable week, becoming the first Golden Eagle in program history to record back-to-back six-point efforts. The rookie midfielder had two goals and two assists in a 4-0 home victory over NIU on Aug. 29 before following that up with another two-goal, two-assist performance in a 4-1 win against UIC on the road, Sept. 2.

It was the first time since 2001 that a Marquette squad had registered four goals in back-to-back games. As of Sunday, Prpa led the nation in points (12) and assists (4), while ranking tied for third with four goals.

He added to that total in a 4-1 home win vs. Northwestern on Monday night, scoring a goal while assisting on another to bring his season total to 15 points on five goals and five assists.

Prpa and the Golden Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 10, when they go for their fourth straight win against Saint Louis in Missouri.
