MILWAUKEE-- Redshirt junior Charlie Lyon and redshirt sophomore C. Nortey have earned men's soccer BIG EAST Conference weekly honors, the conference office announced Monday afternoon. Lyon was named Goalkeeper of the Week, while Nortey was named to the weekly honor roll.

Lyon picked up his second consecutive shutout in league play in a 1-0 overtime victory at Villanova on Saturday. He faced 17 shots and made a season-high seven saves en route to his fifth clean sheet of the campaign. Lyon has allowed just one goal in his last 403:45 minutes in net.

Nortey has earned honor roll accolades for the second time in as many weeks as he tallied Marquette's golden goal in the 95th minute of MU's overtime victory at Villanova. It was his second consecutive game-winner in BIG EAST play. Nortey also posted a game-high three of the Golden Eagles' six shots on goal. The game-winner against the Wildcats was the fourth of his career and he leads the team with five goals this season.

Marquette is off to a 2-0 start in league action and will host BIG EAST newcomers, Butler (Wed., Oct. 9) and Creighton (Sat., Oct. 12) at the newly renovated Valley Fields. Both squads are nationally ranked.
