No. 2 Marquette Hosts NIU Tuesday Night at Valley Fields

MILWAUKEE - Fresh off of Marquette's 3-2 win over No. 2 UConn on Saturday, the Golden Eagles, ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation this week (Soccer America), return to their home pitch this Tuesday, Oct. 6, to face Northern Illinois. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Central time at Valley Fields.
Marquette (11-0-0, 3-0-0 BIG EAST) extended the nation's longest win streak with Saturday's impressive win over UConn. MU will look for its 13th consecutive regular-season victory on Tuesday versus NIU, the Golden Eagles' final non-conference match of the season. Marquette is 19-3-1 in its last 23 regular-season games.
Northern Illinois (3-5-2, 2-0-0 MAC) enters Tuesday's match having won two-straight over Mid-American Conference opponents, Florida Atlantic (W, 2-0) and Hartwick (W, 1-0). Huskies leading goal-scorer junior midfielder Gael Rivera has netted four goals on the campaign, while junior James Stevenson has chipped in three goals and a pair of assists. Jordan Godsey has seen all the action in goal this season for NIU, posting four shutouts and a .768 save percentage.
