MILWAUKEE -- The No. 15 Marquette University men's soccer team (7-3-1, 1-1-2 BIG EAST) and No. 23 Providence College (8-2-1, 3-0-1) meet for a BIG EAST Conference match Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7:05 p.m. Central time at Valley Fields.

Wednesday's showdown is a rematch of the 2013 BIG EAST Men's Soccer Championship final. MU defeated the Friars 3-2 at PPL Park in Chester, Pennsylvania to claim its first-ever conference tournament title. The contest between MU and PC was originally scheduled for Sept. 27, but was postponed due to travel issues for the Friars.

Last time out, MU tied Villanova 1-1 (2OT) this past Saturday at Valley Fields. Louis Bennett II tallied the equalizer with a minute left to send the match into overtime. MU remains unbeaten at home in 2014 and has not lost at "The Valley" in its past nine matches dating back to last season.

There will be a Birds of Prey march to Valley Fields leaving from Sobelman's at Marquette at 6:20 p.m. The first 100 students that come to the march will receive a free Birds of Prey Fanatic shirt.

Fans who purchased tickets for the originally scheduled match against Providence in September can bring their tickets to this match to receive admission.

To purchase tickets, visit or call the ticket office at 414-288-GOMU. Marquette students with a valid MU ID receive free admission.

Wednesday's match will be featured on the all-new BIG EAST Digital Network. Access to the BEDN can be found on or the FOX Sports Go app. Fans can also follow Marquette men's soccer on Twitter (@marquettesoccer) for real-time updates all season long.
