No. 10 MU Seeks BIG EAST Title Friday at DePaul

MILWAUKEE - With a BIG EAST championship in its sights and postseason implications on the line, the Marquette University men's soccer team will travel to DePaul on Friday, Nov. 8 for its final test of the 2013 regular season. Kickoff is scheduled for noon Central time at Wish Field.

Friday's match against the Blue Demons (4-11-2, 0-7-1 BIG EAST) will be broadcast live by WMUR Marquette Radio. The online audio stream can be found at and accessed by clicking on the "Listen Now!" button. Live stats will also be available on GameTracker.

Key Storylines
• Marquette is seeking its second BIG EAST Conference title in three years heading into the final match of the 2013 regular season Friday at DePaul. The Golden Eagles, who joined the league in 2005, captured their first BIG EAST Blue Division championship in 2011.

• Marquette would claim the 2013 BIG EAST Conference regular-season championship outright with a win Friday at DePaul, as well as wrap up the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Men's Soccer Championship.

• With 19 points in the league, Marquette sits atop the BIG EAST table with a one-point lead over second-place Xavier and a three-point lead over Georgetown heading into Friday's final regular-season match.

• The worst MU could finish is third place, which means the Golden Eagles would host one of two BIG EAST quarterfinal matches on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The top two teams receive a bye to the BIG EAST semifinals next Friday, Nov. 15 at PPL Park in Chester, Pa., which is also the site of the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 17.

• MU is coming off a 2-1 home win last Saturday versus Seton Hall. It was the team's 10th victory of the campaign, which marks the second straight year (and 15th overall) the Golden Eagles have reached double digits in a single season.

• Marquette is 4-2-1 away from home this season, but unbeaten (3-0-1) in BIG EAST road matches.

• DePaul will be looking for its first BIG EAST victory of 2013 on Friday. The Blue Demons were .500 through their first eight matches of the season, which included a 2-2 draw at Wish Field against then seventh-ranked St. John's to open league play.
