MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's soccer team has earned an at-large berth as the No. 7 overall seed in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship and will host a second-round match at Valley Fields on Sunday, Nov. 18, it was announced today.

MU (16-3-1) will host the winner of this Thursday's first-round match between Western Illinois (7-8-4) and Northwestern (11-5-4). Sunday's kickoff time is set for 4 p.m. Central time.

It will be Marquette's first NCAA postseason appearance since 1997 and second appearance altogether.

Their 16 wins have tied a school record, and Marquette has been ranked in the top-10 in the nationally polls for most of the season after rattling off 12 straight victories to begin the campaign.

Marquette is one of eight BIG EAST teams in the field of 48, a record for the league which has placed seven teams into the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship on two previous occasions.
