The Marquette University men's soccer team garnered multiple national awards after winning the program's first BIG EAST Men's Soccer tournament championship in Philadelphia. Redshirt senior Adam Lysak and redshirt sophomores C. Nortey and Axel Sjoberg all collected national awards for the Golden Eagles this week.

Lysak was named to the Team of the Week and College Soccer News Team of the Week for his offensive performance in the BIG EAST tournament.

Lysak scored game-winning goals in the semifinal and championship matches. His golden goal in double overtime vs. Butler and a goal in the 59th minute vs. Providence helped MU secure the title.

Lysak, who has four goals on the season, has found the back of the net when Marquette needed him most, notching three game-winning goals for MU this year.

Two other Marquette players, Axel Sjoberg and C. Nortey, joined Lysak in acquiring national awards. Sjoberg and Nortey were named to the College Sports Madness All-American teams, with Sjoberg earning a spot on the second team and Nortey landing on the third team.

Sjoberg, a defender, has two goals on the year and has helped MU maintain a 12-5-2 record and nine shutouts. Nortey leads the team in points (20) and goals (9), including five game-winners.
