Prpa Adds to List of Awards, Named to TDS Freshman Best XI

Dec. 15, 2016

MILWAUKEE – Marquette men’s soccer midfielder Luka Prpa has been selected to the TopDrawerSoccer Freshman Best XI First Team, it was announced on Thursday.

Prpa adds to the long list of awards he’s received this season by becoming the first-ever Golden Eagle to land on the TDS Freshman Best XI. The BIG EAST Freshman of the Year was the league’s only player to be selected to either the first or second teams. He finished the season with 26 points on 10 goals and six assists.

The Wind Lake, Wisconsin, native was one of five midfielders named to the first team, along with Cameron Lindley of North Carolina, who was named TDS Freshman of the Year.

Prpa was the first Marquette player to reach double-digits in goals since C. Nortey, who tallied 10 back in 2013. That same season, Nortey was selected to the TDS National Best XI after leading the Golden Eagles to a conference regular season and tournament championship on the way to the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA tournament.
