Raj Gill is in his second season as an assistant coach of the Marquette men's tennis team. Gill joins the men's squad after spending one season as an assistant on the Marquette women's tennis team. "Raj adds a lot to our program," said head coach Steve Rodecap. "He is as loyal and dedicated as any college assistant in the country. I put a lot of trust into him and he does more for me at this stage than any other assistant coach I've ever had." Gill was a four-year letter winner on the Marquette men's tennis team under head coach Rodecap. In his four seasons at Marquette, Gill earned a 36-39 record in singles play and a 41-34 doubles record. He was 10-6 as a senior in singles. Gill was an exceptional doubles player, winning as many as 14 times as a sophomore and owning an above .500 record in three seasons. "Obviously, he played here and really does care about the program and wants to see it do well," Rodecap said. "Our guys are very fortunate to have someone with the mentality and work ethic that Raj brings to the table. It's not everyday that you find assistant coaches like Raj and we feel very fortunate to have him." Gill graduated from Marquette in 2004 with a degree in political science. |
