Senior (2000) -- Won 11 singles matches in a row at the end of the fall season to improve to 11-1. He won the no. 5 flight at the Marquette Invitational and the no. 3 flight at the Sprint PCS Tournament. Paired with Bart Cordemeijer for a 3-4 doubles record. Junior (1999-2000) -- Finished with a 10-16 record in singles and 12-11 doubles record. Sophomore (1998-99) -- Posted a 3-4 singles record and 3-12 doubles record (with Christain Kawas). He was a finalist at Drake Invitational in B Flight Singles and A Flight doubles with Carlo Rossi. Freshman (1997-98) -- Finished with a 5-11 overall record in singles, including 2-5 at the No. 6 position. Recorded a 5-9 mark in the No. 2 slot in doubles (with Cordemeijer) and 7-10 overall. He won the consolation draw of the C Flight singles at the Marquette Fall Invitational and reached the third round of doubles at the Fallon Invitational. High School -- Finished sixth at the 1997 Illinois State Championship and was the first player to win the Big 12 Conference singles title four years in a row. He holds school record for career singles victories (117). Personal -- One of Emil and Marisa Verban's two children. His sister, Mariel, plays tennis at Georgia. He was born on Feb. 28, 1979 and is an information technology major.
