The Marquette University men's tennis team (3-4) swept a pair of non-conference matches at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium Saturday afternoon, downing Toledo 5-2 before earning a 7-0 win over South Dakota State in the nightcap.

The victories extended Marquette's home-court winning streak to 18 matches, a run that dates back to the start of the 2013-14 campaign. The squad will conclude its busy weekend on Sunday when the team hosts UIC at 12 p.m. CT.

Marquette claimed the valuable doubles point in each of the matches, winning at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions in both contests. The Golden Eagles finished the day 4-0 in doubles, snapping a run of three road matches without a win.

In singles action, MU jumped out to early leads in both outings and didn't look back en route to the wins. Junior Daniel Fernandez clinched the team decision against the Rockets and freshman Andre Romanello did the same versus SDSU.
