The No. 59 Marquette University men's tennis team (8-4) dropped a 4-1 decision at No. 59 Wisconsin (6-3) Wednesday night in non-conference action at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

The loss snapped a five-match winning streak for the Golden Eagles, who earned the program's highest-ever national ranking earlier this week from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Badgers opened the match by claiming the valuable doubles point, clinching the point with a narrow 8-6 win at the No. 2 position over senior Logon Collins and sophomore Gleb Sklyr.

Freshman Nick Dykema posted an impressive 6-2, 6-2 win in singles at the No. 4 position over Petr Satral. Unfortunately, that was the only victory MU was able to collect before UW claimed the four points necessary for the team win.

Marquette returns to action at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 6 when the team hosts Northern Illinois at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
