The Marquette University men’s tennis team (7-5) wrapped up its weekend non-conference homestand with a 7-0 victory over Eastern Illinois Sunday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

The Golden Eagles are now 6-0 at home this season.

Marquette didn’t drop a set on the day, sweeping all six singles matchups. Senior Jose Manuel Munoz, freshman Logon Collins and freshman Logon Collins were the first to finish, allowing MU to claim the four points needed to secure the team victory.

MU opened the match by claiming the valuable doubles point for an early 1-0 advantage. Marquette swept all three matchups, including an 8-7 tiebreaker decision at the No. 3 position by junior Drake Kakar and freshman Thibault Troude.

Marquette continues its 2010-11 campaign on March 5 when the team travels to Drake to face both the Bulldogs and Western Illinois on Saturday.
