Men's Tennis Downs Connecticut 7-0 At Home

Milwaukee - The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-4) returned from an extended break to post a 7-0 dual match victory over Connecticut (1-3) Sunday afternoon at Helfaer Tennis & Recreation Center. The Golden Eagles had last previously taken to the courts on Feb. 20 at Wisconsin. Marquette didn't drop a set in Sunday's matchup, sweeping all three doubles contests before posting singles victories at each of the six positions. Junior Stephen Shao made his first appearance of the season at the No. 1 singles position and responded with a quick 6-2, 6-2 decision over UConn's Joe Goldstein. Shao is now 9-3 on the year in dual matches and 13-7 overall. Freshman Graydon Klassen was inserted into the lineup for the first time in 2007-08. He claimed a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Connecticut's Tom Cook at the No. 6 spot. Also posting singles victories on Sunday were Dusan Medan, Niko Boulieris, Mark Rutherford and Brett Binkley.
