Binkley, Fleming and Lopez Advance to Finals at Ball State Invite

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette men's tennis team wrapped up their second day of competition at the Ball State Invitational in Muncie, Ind. The Golden Eagle tandem of Brett Binkley and Eric Fleming will play in the Flight B doubles final tomorrow, while teammate, freshman Mario Lopez will play in the Flight B Consolation championship. In the quarterfinals Lopez defeated Illinois State's Tim Link, 7-6, 6-3. He then matched up with Danny Vidal of Ball State, 6-1, 2-6, 4-0. In doubles action, the team of Binkley and Fleming breezed through the quarterfinals and the semifinals. In the first match of the day the duo took down Blain Keller and Joe Venegas of Valparaiso, 8-2. Next they matched up to Northern Illinois' David Katz and Diego Zagarra-Ballon taking them down 8-4. They will meet Illinois State's pair of Yoohann Nograbat and Djordje Uskokovic, tomorrow in the championship.
