Golden Eagles Fall 6-1 At No. 66 Harvard Sunday Afternoon

The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-4) opened a four-match road swing with a 6-1 setback at No. 66 Harvard (5-3) Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.
Four of the six singles matches went to three sets, but only junior Niko Boulieris was able to secure a victory for the Golden Eagles. He defeated Harvard's Alistair Felton 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 at the No. 3 position. Classmates Dusan Medan and Mark Rutherford each claimed the first set at the No. 2 and No. 5 positions, respectively, but were unable to collect a win.
Senior Trent Hagan dropped a tightly contested match at the No. 1 spot, falling 7-5, 7-6 to No. 65 Chris Clayton.
Harvard opened the match by claiming all three doubles matches to claim an early 1-0 advantage.
MU continues its road swing Monday afternoon at Brown. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
