Golden Eagles Fall At Brown Monday Evening, 6-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-5) fell Monday evening to Brown (12-4), 6-1, in the second match of their four-game road trip.

To open play, the top doubles pairing of Trent Hagan and Niko Boulieris captured an 8-5 victory over Brown's Noah Gardner and Sam Garland. Kendrick Au and Nathaniel Gorham defeated Mark Rutherford and Jonathan Schwein, 9-8 (2), in the final doubles pairing to claim the doubles point for the Bears.

Garnering the only point on the day for the Golden Eagles was junior Niko Boulieris who defeated Brown's Gorham in the No. 3 singles slot, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Coming up just short for MU was junior Dusan Medan, who rallied from a 6-3 defeat in the first set to take the second 6-4. In the third Medan fell 7-6 (6), as Chris Lee took the point.

The Golden Eagles return to action at noon Thursday at Hampton University.
