Men's Tennis Defeats Buffalo, 5-1

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Marquette men's tennis team improved to 7-5 today, as they took down the University of Buffalo, 5-1, in Daytona Beach, Florida. In doubles, the Golden Eagles got quick wins from the duos of Brett Binkley and Mark Rutherford at no. 1 and Pete Van Lieshout and Trent Hagan at no. 2. Binkley and Rutherford defeated Yules Hadisbroto and Kirill Kolomytes, 8-3, while Hagan and Van Lieshout took down the tandem of Nikesh Singh Panthalia and Octavian Stane, 8-4. "I thought we did a good job of getting off the court quickly at one and two doubles," assistant coach Raj Gill said. "I think as a team we played pretty well today." In singles action, Binkley, Niko Boulieris and Eric Fleming, all had convincing wins at no. 4, 5 and 6. Hagan earned a victory over Singh Panthlia at no. 1, 6-3, 6-4. The Golden Eagles will play at Bethune-Cookman tomorrow at noon CT. -COMPLETE RESULTS-
