The Marquette University men's tennis team (6-8) dropped a tough 4-3 decision at UNLV (5-4) Friday morning in non-conference action on the road.

The valuable doubles point proved to be the difference for MU. Sophomores Nick Dykema and Kristiyan Trukov had four match points at the No. 2 position, but UNLV rallied for a 7-6 victory in the clinching match. Junior Daniel Fernandez and senior Vukasin Teofanovic were able to earn a 6-3 decision at No. 1.

Teofanovic, Dykema and Trukov each battled in singles competition and were rewarded with three-set wins. Unfortunately for MU, the team was unable to secure the fourth point necessary for the team win.

Marquette returns to action on Saturday against Northern Arizona in Las Vegas, Nev.
