Los Angeles, Calif. -
The Marquette University men's tennis team (12-4) got back on the winning track Tuesday morning, defeating Marist (3-5) in non-conference action in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Golden Eagles swept all three doubles matchups and claimed victories at five of the six singles positions in the victory. MU will wrap up their week-long swing through California with matches against Loyola Marymount (March 19) and Nevada (March 20).
Senior Mark Rutherford and sophomore Jonathan Schwerin slid up the lineup into the top doubles spot against the Red Foxes and responded with a convincing 8-1 decision. Both players also captured singles victories, along with Dusan Medan, Niko Boulieris and Otavio Perim.
The victory snapped a four-match road losing streak for Marquette, all of which had come on the road and on outdoor courts.
