Men's Tennis Downs Jacksonville, 5-2

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Marquette University men's tennis team took the opening doubles point and held on for a 5-2 dual match victory over Jacksonville University Wednesday afternoon in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Golden Eagles improve to 9-6 in dual play as freshman Dan Mamalat picked up his team-leading 10th singles victory of the season. Mamalat became the first MU player to notch 10 victories this season after defeating JU's Larry Condez at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-5. He also teamed with fellow freshman Thibault Troude for the first time this season in doubles action and took home a 9-8 (5) victory at the No. 2 spot.
Perim, Troude and Kakar earned points for Marquette in singles play, in addition to Mamalat and the doubles point.
The Golden Eagles will continue their road swing in Florida when they take on Winthrop Friday at 10 a.m. CT in Jacksonville, Fla.
