March 20, 2008
San Francisco - The Marquette University men's tennis team (10-6) dropped the second dual contest of a three-match swing in California Thursday afternoon, falling 5-2 at San Francisco in non-conference action. The Golden Eagles will conclude their trip Saturday afternoon when they face Santa Clara. A pair of MU players, Stephen Shao and Niko Boulieris, posted three-set victories for the Golden Eagles in singles action, but couldn't earn the necessary four points to secure the team victory. Shao and Boulieris both dropped the first set in their respective matchups before rallying for the victory. Shao downed Rainer Nachbauer at the No. 3 spot, while Boulieris defeated USF's Falko Huettenberger. The Dons claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
