The Marquette University men’s tennis team (10-7) dropped a 5-2 decision at Boise State Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The Golden Eagles, who will play their third match in as many days on Sunday against Utah State, downed Montana 4-3 on Friday.
Boise State claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. The MU tandem of freshman Nick Dykema and junior Cameron Tehrani was able to claim an 8-7 decision at No. 3, capped by a narrow 8-6 edge in the tiebreaker.
MU was only able to claim a pair of singles wins, but did drop tiebreakers in a pair of matchups. The day was highlighted by senior Dan Mamalat’s 6-4, 7-5 decision at No. 1 over 60th-ranked Andy Bettles. Classmate Logon Collins was also victorious at No. 3, rallying over his opponent after dropping the first set.
