Men's Tennis Falls to #13 Texas

AUSTIN, Tx. - In the first ever match up between the two schools, the #13 University of Texas swept Marquette, 7-0, tonight at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin, Texas. The win improves the Longhorn's to 11-5, while the Golden Eagles drop to 9-7. In doubles play, Marquette was unable to come away with any victories. Dimitar Kutrovsky and Josh Zavala defeated Brett Binkley and Mark Rutherford at no. 1, 8-4. The Golden Eagle tandem of Trent Hagan and Pete Van Lieshout dropped a tight match to Bernarhd Duessner and Luis Diaz Barriga, 8-6. In singles, Binkley dropped the first set to Zavala at no. 3, but seemed to have control in the second set, up 3-0. Zavala fought back to win the match, 6-4, 6-4. Freshman Niko Boulieris fell to Rook Schellenberg at no. 5, 6-4, 6-4. The Golden Eagles will play at Texas-San Antonio tomorrow at 10 a.m. -COMPLETE RESULTS-
