The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-11) wrapped up play Saturday afternoon at the Boise State Spring Classic with a 4-3 victory over Idaho to claim seventh place in the event.

The Golden Eagles, who played three matches on the weekend, were able to down the Vandals after falling 4-3 to No. 65 Southern Miss and Ball State on Friday afternoon. Of Marquette's 11 setbacks this season in dual action, five have come to nationally ranked opponents and six have been by the slimmest of margins.

MU played Saturday for the second-straight match without No. 1 singles player Jose Carlos Gutierrez Crowley, who was out of the lineup with injury.

After dropping the doubles point with losses at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, Marquette managed to claim four of the six singles wins to claim the team victory. Freshman Cameron Tehrani clinched the team victory with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 win over Jose Bendeck at the No. 4 spot. Also claiming singles wins for MU were Dan Mamalat, Vukasin Teofanovic and Drake Kakar.

MU opened play on Friday against Southern Miss and narrowly pulled off the win against USM. Dan Mamalat, Logon Collins and Teofanovic all claimed singles victories, but Marquette was unable to find the final point needed for the team victory.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Sunday, April 1 when the team travels to league opponent USF.
