The Marquette University men’s tennis team (9-11) wrapped up a two-match road swing in Texas Friday afternoon with a 6-1 non-conference setback at SMU.

The Golden Eagles opened the trip with a 5-2 win over UT-Arlington on Thursday afternoon.

Sophomore Vukasin Teofanovic was the lone MU player to claim a victory, downing SMU’s Pablo Perez-Esnaola (SMU) 6-3, 5-7, 10-2 at the No. 2 position. Teofanovic is now 18-15 overall on the year and 10-8 in dual competition.

MU returns to action on April 6 when the team opens a four-match homestand with a twinbill against Cleveland State and Chicago State.
