MU Concludes Weekend With 7-0 Victory Over Villanova

The Marquette University men's tennis team (15-6) capped a successful weekend on the road, defeating Villanova 7-0 at the West Campus Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles have now won six outings in a row and seven of their last eight. Each of the decisions has been by a perfect 7-0 final score. MU defeated Georgetown Friday afternoon.
For the second-straight afternoon the Golden Eagles dropped just one set in singles action and swept all three doubles matchups. Freshman Drake Kakar was inserted into the lineup and earned a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 6 singles and classmate Jonathan Schwerin claimed a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) victory, sliding up to the No. 5 slot in the lineup.
Marquette concludes the regular season with a week-long trip to Florida. The Golden Eagles will face UCF (April 10) and USF (April 13) before competing in the BIG EAST Conference Championship (April 16-19). USF hosts the tournament on campus in Tampa, Fla.
