MU Extends Winning Streak To Five Matches With 6-1 Win Over Tulane

The Marquette University men's tennis team (16-4) extended its winning streak to five matches Sunday afternoon after a 6-1 victory against Tulane in New Orleans, La.
The Golden Eagles, in the midst of an 11-match road swing, also downed New Orleans 4-3 on Saturday afternoon on the team's most recent portion of the trip.
MU opened the match by claiming the doubles point for the 17th time in 20 matches this year. Victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions secured the point and each of the three contests was tightly contested.
Marquette posted four straight-set victories in singles action and Jacob Straus earned a tiebreaker decision at the No. 5 spot. Senior Dusan Medan, ranked 99th in the country, claimed a quick 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot and is now 14-5 in dual competition and 25-10 overall.
Medan and Straus are tied for the team lead with 25 singles victories.
MU returns to action on Saturday, April 17 when the team travels to conference rival DePaul in the regular-season finale.
