Seniors Binkley, Sirotek & Van Lieshout Lead MU To Pair Of Wins

Milwaukee - The Marquette University men's tennis team (15-6) wrapped up the regular season portion of its dual match campaign with a day/night doubleheader at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium. MU dropped just one set in a pair of matches, downing Wright State and Villanova by identical 7-0 scores. The team has now claimed five-straight victories and concluded the season 14-1 at home. The busy day allowed the Golden Eagles the opportunity to salute the three members of their senior class; Brett Binkley, Greg Sirotek and Pete Van Lieshout. The trio played a large role in the day's success, accounting for a total of 10 singles and doubles victories. Each of the three seniors posted a pair of singles wins, with five of those victories coming in the straight-set variety. Binkley is now 12-4 in dual match competition, while Sirotek and Van Lieshout remained undefeated in limited appearances. Nine of the team's 15 victories this season have been by a score of 7-0 and eight of those came at home. The Golden Eagles will next participate in the BIG EAST Championships, hosted by the University of South Florida April 17-20 in Tampa, Fla.
