The Marquette University men's tennis team (14-8) picked up a 6-1 victory over Creighton (9-9) Friday night at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

The victory improved MU's record to 10-0 at home in 2013-14 and improved its record to 3-0 against BIG EAST Conference opponents.

Creighton opened the match by claiming the doubles point, earning wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. With BIG EAST Player of the Week Nick Dykema out of the lineup, MU's bottom two duos featured new combinations. Junior Cameron Tehrani and freshman Mackenzie Stearns, playing together for the first time, fell behind 6-1 at No. 3 before mounting a late rally, but eventually dropped an 8-5 matchup.

Junior Vukasin Teofanovic helped Marquette swing the momentum in singles, knotting the score at 1-1 with a quick 6-0, 6-3 decision at No. 2. Sophomore Gleb Sklyr followed suit and senior Dan Mamalat moved the Golden Eagles ahead 3-1 with his 87th career singles victory. He ties former MU standout Niko Boulieris with the win and is now just one behind Dusan Medan for the all-time mark.

Junior Cameron Tehrani clinched the team win with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles to complete the rally.

The Golden Eagles will recognize seniors Mamalat and Logon Collins prior to the team's regular-season finale Sunday against Butler at Noon CT.
