The Marquette University men’s tennis team wrapped up play at the 2014 Purdue Fall Invitational Sunday morning with singles and doubles action.

Sophomore Kristiyan Trukov, who claimed the Flight E championship last season, downed Alex Woldmoe of Butler 6-2. 6-4 to earn the consolation title of the Flight D draw. After falling in his opening match, Trukov dropped just one set the remainder of the weekend.

Trukov and freshman Andrew Romanello saw their bid for the Flight B doubles title fall just short. The duo dropped an 8-6 decision Sunday to Chicago Stat’s tandem of Sergiu Muresan and Mario Noboa.

The Golden Eagles return to action Sept. 26 when the squad travels to the Ball State Fall Invitational in Muncie, Ind.
