Marquette Opens Play At Notre Dame Invite

The Marquette University men’s tennis team opened play at the Bobby Bayliss Invitational Friday afternoon with singles and doubles completion at the University of Notre Dame.

Seven players are representing MU this weekend in a variety of draws. In doubles action, the Marquette duos of senior Mackenzie Stearns and sophomore Greg Anderson and junior Andre Romanello and freshman Brandon Shanklin were able to earn victories. The Romanello/Shanklin tandem edged its opponent from Notre Dame 8-7.

In singles competition both Stearns and Anderson collected victories. Anderson was a straight-set winner and Stearns collected a three-set decision against Memphis.

Tournament play continues Saturday morning with more singles and doubles action.
