The Marquette University men’s tennis team continued play at the 2015 ITA Midwest Regional Friday with singles and doubles competition in South Bend, Ind.

Senior Gleb Sklyr came up one win short of his bid to earn a spot in the main draw, falling 6-2, 6-2 to Lubo Cuba of Michigan. Sklyr had posted a pair of victories in the qualifying draw on Thursday.

Marquette’s Daniel Fernandez and Alvaro Verdu, who were both placed in the main draw, dropped their respective opening matches Friday afternoon. Michigan’s Carter Lin rallied past Fernandez after losing the first set.

Main draw doubles action, which featured three Marquette tandems, continued late into Friday night.
