Marquette Wraps Up Play In Texas

The Marquette University men's tennis team wrapped up the fall portion of its 2013-14 campaign Saturday afternoon with action at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas.

The Golden Eagles will hit the courts for practice at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium until facing Lipscomb on Jan. 18 in Nashville, Tenn., for the squad's dual match opener.

Senior Logon Collins, whose busy weekend included multiple singles and doubles outings, fell Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Flight A consolation draw. Collins opened his day with a 6-7, 7-6, 1-0 win over Alex Grubbs of Air Force before falling to Daniel Armengol of UT-Arlington in straight sets.

The doubles tandem of junior Cameron Tehrani and freshman Kristiyan Trukov advanced to the quarterfinals of the Flight A bracket before falling to Texas Tech's No. 1 duo of Hugo Dojas and Max Hinnisdaels by a score of 8-2.

Trukov also picked up a singles win on Saturday in a bonus match.
