Men's Tennis Completes Day 1 of Vrdevelt Invitational

KALAMAZOO, MICH. - The Marquette men's tennis team completed the first day of doubles competition at the Vrdevelt Inviational hosted by the Western Michigan. The Golden Eagles won at three of the four doubles spots against Michigan State. Brett Binkley teamed up with Stephen Shao to take down the Spartan's Alex Forger and John Allare, 8-6. Freshmen Mark Rutherford and Niko Boulieris defeated Brendan Kinkopt and Britton Steele, 8-2. Marquette struggled against Western Michigan in doubles, falling at all four spots. The duo of Binkley and Van Lieshout were able to defeat the DePaul Blue Demon's tandem of Danny Wilson and Chris Nowak, 8-5.
