The Marquette University men’s tennis team (0-0) will open its dual campaign this week, hosting IUPUI in the opener for the fifth year in a row on Friday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. in Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

“We are looking forward to finally getting started with the dual season,” head coach Steve Rodecap said. “The guys have been working extremely hard and we have a number of experienced players who know what it takes to be successful at this level.”

The Golden Eagles have gone 5-0 in past year's season openers against the Jaguars, including a 7-0 sweep in their 2015 debut.

The 2014-15 season ended with Marquette earning a trip to the BIG EAST Conference Tournament Championship match. The Golden Eagles fell to No. 1 seed and back-to-back BIG EAST Conference Champions St. John’s, 4-2. MU returns seven letterwinners from that squad, including multiple players with singles and doubles experience.

Marquette will continue play at home for one more week as it takes on South Dakota State on Friday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. CT.
