The Marquette men’s tennis team (2-2) returns to play in Ft. Myers, Fla. to take on Bethune-Cookman and Florida Gulf Coast, beginning Saturday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. CT, and ending Sunday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. CT.

The Golden Eagles are coming off of a three-match weekend that began at home against South Dakota St. Friday, Jan. 29. Daniel Fernandez and Alvaro Verdu clinched the point as a pair with a 6-3 win at No. 1 against the Jackrabbits. Freshman transfer Greg Anderson made his Marquette debut and also clinched the team victory Friday with a 7-5, 6-1 decision at No. 6.

"We are looking forward to getting back on the court after a tough weekend," head coach Steve Rodecap said.  "We have plenty of room to improve, but the good part is we are still early in the dual season."

After downing SDSU 7-0, the team made its way to Bloomington, Indiana, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 30-31. MU fell to both No. 53 Indiana, 4-0, and VCU, 5-0, to conclude the weekend.

Marquette’s next opponents, Bethune-Cookman (1-1) and FGCU, (2-2) both sit at .500 to begin each of their respective 2016 dual seasons.

Following the weekend matchups in Ft. Myers, Florida, MU returns to Milwaukee to play University of Illinois-Chicago on Friday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. Central time.
