The Marquette University men’s tennis team (2-1) continues its five-match homestand this weekend at Helfaer Tennis Stadium with a trio of non-conference matchups.

The Golden Eagles will face South Dakota State at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday and cap the doubleheader against Western Illinois at 4 p.m. CT. MU will return to the court at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning for the opening serve versus Bradley to conclude a busy weekend.

“Any time you have three matches in 24 hours you better be ready for a physical weekend,” head coach Steve Rodecap said. “We are coming off a dead weekend (no matches) and have been able to really push our guys and I feel good with our conditioning level.”

Marquette is 2-0 at home this season, but hasn’t taken to the court since defeating UIC 7-0 on Jan. 26. Sophomore Cameron Tehrani, who tops the roster with 11 singles victories, owns a pair of wins in dual action. He is followed closely by classmate Vukasin Teofanovic, who is in possession of 10 overall singles wins. MU is 11-7 in singles play and 4-3 in doubles competition through three dual matches.

“We have put a lot of emphasis on doubles of late because I haven't been happy with our brand of doubles,” Rodecap said. “Hopefully, we will have a better presence in doubles this weekend and get production at all three positions.”

South Dakota State (0-3) plays its entire Spring schedule on the road and will take on Bradley on Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee. Western Illinois has already played eight dual matches and owns an overall record of 3-5. Bradley owns an overall record of 2-1 after defeating UMKC on Feb. 3 and the team will play at UIC on Saturday evening before arriving in Milwaukee.
