Marquette Faces Wisconsin, Toledo This Week

Feb. 14, 2018

The Marquette University men’s tennis team will return to action at rival Wisconsin on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 5:30 p.m. Central time, followed by a home match against Toledo on Saturday.

The Golden Eagles (5-1) are riding a five-match winning streak and most recently downed NIU, 5-0, at Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Sunday.

“Overall, I have been pleased with the team’s performance the last two weeks, but now it’s time to take it to another level on the road against a very good Wisconsin team,” head coach Steve Rodecap said.

Wisconsin (4-4) dropped its last two matchups in a West Coast-swing against Oregon and Washington. Like MU however, Wisconsin has remained undefeated at home to start the season. The Badgers also feature the nation’s third-ranked doubles tandem (Chema Carranza and Josef Dodridge).

Following the matchup against the Badgers, Marquette hosts Toledo on Saturday, Feb. 17 with first serve slated for 11 a.m. CT.

The Rockets (1-5) come to Milwaukee after two weeks off and last recorded a loss at Purdue on Feb. 3, 7-0.

After this week’s action, Marquette welcomes South Dakota St. on Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. CT.
